Get Outside & Play: Early Spring Hiking

You may call us crazy but we can smell spring in the air. It’s in the small moments of sunshine and warmer breezes. We believe in thinking positive and calling forth what we want. And we want to get outside and play. So in that vein we present our Get Outside & Play series. To kick it off we will start with our personal favorite spring activity; hiking. Hiking, which is fundamentally walking in nature, is an activity that can be enjoyed all year round. All that’s needed is a sense of adventure and the right equipment.

Late winter and early spring hiking calls for sturdy footwear and grand discoveries. The earth is waking up again and their is magic in the air. Navigating the mud and lingering snow is a job for proven hiking boots. Our current favorite is the  Terrex Fast R Mid GTX Boots  by adidas. Built with the kind of stability and support needed to ascend a trail at high-speeds. The waterproof and lightweight boot provides said stability and support in spades with Formation technology and Traxion outsoles. Easy to pack and durable, the Terrex collection is the boot you want on your feet coming down the trail.

Despite its draw, hiking at this time of year comes with its pitfalls. Snow, rain, mud, blow downs and worn out roads all pose obstructions. However, the good news is that with each coming eek conditions will begin to improve. In the meantime, their is no reason to miss out on the fun. For clothes layering is the still the name of the game. Weather conditions may start out warm but temperatures drop quickly as the sun goes down. Base layers and wind-proof gear is important protection against the elements.
